Our recruitment process is comprehensive:


First impressions count. It takes just a few seconds to make one! We evaluate each candidate on initial appearance and conduct.


For each candidate the following are ensured:

  • The necessary qualification documents
  • A valid identity document
  • A current bank statement
  • A working cell phone
  • Recent contactable references
  • Licence/s – drivers, forklift, etc.
  • Test

Client specific, customised testing is conducted. Tests may include:

  • An alpha-numeric literacy test
  • Practical tests
  • Interview

A one-on-one interview ascertains the candidate’s ability to converse and his or her general demeanour.


Additional checks are done, specific to the client’s requirements. These include:

  • Criminal
  • Credit – a current check that shows current exposure
  • Written reference(s)
  • Medical (where applicable)
  • Employ

Through our stringent recruitment process, we are able to access the best of the available pool of candidates. More than 80 percent of workers who are employed by Gulf are at time of application, unemployed. We are helping to create work for a large number of people, enabling them to acquire valuable work experience and skills.


Our outsourced staffing solutions, based on our understanding of how your business operates, are customised to suit your very specific needs. We provide streamlined, seamless solutions that, although based on good, old-fashioned face-to-face service excellence, are driven by state-of-the-art technology.

For example, all contractors’ payslips are printed out at each centre from our Head Office in Cape Town, while our site managers’ mobiles are linked to the server enabling them to access staff records whenever, wherever they need to. We aim to minimise delays and maximise efficiency.

Our operational management team are proactive and solutions orientated, Gulf’s service excellence translates into real improvements for each of our clients; from dedicated onsite site managers for more than 50 Gulf workers, implementation of access and time control systems, transport solutions, HIV / Aids workshops, low or no fees for transitioning Gulf workers to clients’ perm payroll to medical aids.
